About the Piece
Flute was inspired by the natural form of a plant stem. The long, flowing shape and repeated structure reflect the way plants grow and develop in nature. I hand-cut, stitched and shaped layers of fabric to create a sense of rhythm, movement and organic growth, transforming a familiar natural form into a tactile and sculptural piece.
