About
Penelope Jordan is a British Artist whose intricate stitched works are inspired by a fascination with patterns and structures found in the natural world. Her work explores how repeated forms can build rhythm, movement, and a sense of organic growth.
Using a labour-intensive process of layering, folding, cutting, and stitching by hand and machine, she transforms flat materials into richly textured, relief-like surfaces. These constructions move between two- and three-dimensional form, creating depth, complexity, and a strong physical presence.
After a decade-long break to raise a family and co-found MHD Watches with her husband, Penelope has returned to her practice with renewed focus. Her work continues to be driven by a close observation of nature, explored through an intuitive process of making and refinement.
