About the Piece
I created Flame by layering, cutting, manipulating and stitching fabric to build a flowing, sculptural form. Inspired by the movement and energy found in nature, the repeated shapes and changing layers create a sense of rhythm, movement and growth.
I wanted the piece to feel both organic and structured, allowing the fabric to create its own sense of movement. The folds and raised layers catch the light and cast changing shadows across the surface, adding depth and bringing the piece to life.
