About the Piece
I created this piece by layering, cutting, stitching and manipulating fabric to recreate the natural form of a shell. All presented in different forms, I was drawn to the shell’s repeating curves and the way its structure grows from the centre outwards. The layers create depth and texture, while the downwards spiral form gives the piece a sense of movement and connection to the patterns found in nature.
